DANCERS from St Austell came back from the UK Street Dance Challenge held at Alton Towers with 20 trophies.

Fourteen youngsters from 4 Funx Sake went to the competition and won 13 places between them, with Jack Walker and Katie Dobson being crowned the UK Street Dance Challenge Champions, winning the Adult Advanced Duo category.

4 Funx Sake has recently formed two competing teams – Deviance (an Under 14 team led by Alice Walker) and Fortitude (an under 18 team led by Jack Walker) - who will be travelling and competing across the South West this year.

These teams both came in second in their categories at Alton Towers.

Alice said: “Jack and I are so proud of our dancers and what they have achieved, and look forward to touring the UK with them at many competitions this year.

“They are true professionals, have progressed so much and are a true inspiration to us. They are putting Cornwall on the map for street dance.”

4 Funx Sake is holding free taster sessions at Easter taster sessions with professional choreographers from London.Workshops are open to everyone, of all ages and abilities.
